This artwork explores the ageing of a flower. There is a real beauty in the petals as they begin to curl over and crease, their colours fade and then darken as they begin to tear and separate. They have a history, they have emotion.
My artworks begin with expressive brushstrokes and mark making. As I layer paint I scratch back to reveal the history of underlying colour.
