An abstract botanical piece exploring leaf shapes, light and dark. I love looking out into my bushland garden and seeing how the plants interact with the environment and each other. Some plants sit happily in the shade of the overhanging canopy. Others clamber over each other reaching for the bright light. The result is an interplay of shapes, movement, shadows.
My paintings are started with an energetic layering of colour with the focus on mark making and brushstrokes that depict movement. The constant layering and varying of shapes creates complex colour mixes and depth within the piece.
This large artwork would make a statement in your home or apartment. The sides are currently painted white but framing can be arranged by request.
